Main Street Productions Brings Holiday Nostalgia to Life with A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play

1940s-Style Broadcast Classic Runs December 3–13 at Basile Westfield Playhouse Directed by Brandon Wentz

WESTFIELD, Ind. — Main Street Productions invites central Indiana audiences to step back in time to the golden age of radio with its upcoming holiday production of A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play, running December 3 through December 13 at the Basile Westfield Playhouse.

Adapted for the stage by Joe Landry with original music by Kevin Connors, this charming reimagining transforms Charles Dickens’ timeless tale into a live 1940s radio broadcast. Complete with vintage commercials for extra-fancy fruitcake, live Foley sound effects, and musical underscoring, a versatile cast of actors vocalizes dozens of characters to bring Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey toward redemption to life on stage.

"There is something magical about combining the nostalgia of 1940s radio drama with a story as deeply cherished as A Christmas Carol," said Director Brandon Wentz, making his directorial debut with Main Street Productions. "Because the sound effects and multi-character performances happen right before the audience's eyes, viewers become an active part of the broadcast experience. It’s a warm, funny, and heartwarming production that promises to leave no one saying 'Bah Humbug!'"

Produced by Teresa Skelton, the production balances classic holiday storytelling with vintage theatrical craft. The intimate space at the Basile Westfield Playhouse places theatergoers up close to the Foley station and vocal work, offering a memorable holiday outing for families and theater lovers alike.

MSP helps Westfield Washington Schools ROCK THE BLOCK

We had a great time at Rock the Block at Westfield Middle School! What a great opportunity to connect with 150 students, 50 families, & fellow community organizations as everyone kicked off the 2026–2027 school year.

Thank you to Westfield Washington Schools for putting together this fun, FREE event for the community. We loved being part of it & wish everyone at WWS a wonderful new school year!

America 250 at Grand Junction Plaza in Westfield

Oral interpretation performance as part of Westfield's July 3rd celebrations. Through powerful historical voices, this performance explored the ideals, struggles, and inspirations that continue to shape the American story 250 years later. Thank you to City of Westfield Parks and Recreation for the invitation and organization of the free community event. Featuring: Thom Johnson as John Adams, Jada Moon as Harriet Tubman, and matt McKee as john F. Kennedy.
