Main Street Productions Presents The Secret Garden: The Musical at the Basile Westfield Playhouse

 

Main Street Productions (MSP) invites audiences to experience the beauty, mystery, and music of The Secret Garden: The Musical, opening May 28 at the Basile Westfield Playhouse in downtown Westfield.

 

Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved classic novel, The Secret Garden features music by Lucy Simon and book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman. The musical tells the story of young Mary Lennox, who is sent to live with her reclusive uncle, Archibald Craven, in a lonely manor on the Yorkshire moors after the death of her parents. As Mary discovers a hidden, neglected garden, she begins to uncover healing, hope, and renewal for herself and those around her.

 

“This story is often described as a children’s tale, but at its heart, it is a deeply mature exploration of grief, memory, and the courage it takes to begin again,” said director Andrea Odle. “We wanted to play with the contrast between the stark, cold world of the interior and the vibrant, chaotic life of the garden.”

 

The production features a cast of local performers from across Central Indiana, including Polly Hamm as Mary Lennox, Mike Lipphardt as Archibald Craven, Harper Moore as Colin Craven, Nate Moore as Dickon, and Kata Ewigleben as Lily.

Performances run May 28 through June 7, 2026, at the Basile Westfield Playhouse, 220 N. Union Street in Westfield. Evening performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

 

Opening Night tickets on May 28 are priced at $10. Regular ticket prices are:

 

$19 Adult admission

$17 Senior (62+) admission

$17 Student admission with ID

Free admission for active military members and veterans with ID

 

A $1 convenience fee applies to all ticket purchases.
