Main Street Productions Opens Season with Arthur Miller’s The Crucible at Basile Westfield Playhouse

WESTFIELD, IN — Main Street Productions invites audiences into the high-stakes pressure cooker of 1692 Salem, Massachusetts, as it opens its 2026–2027 season with Arthur Miller’s classic drama, The Crucible, running October 8–18, 2026, at the Basile Westfield Playhouse.

Directed by Brent Wooldridge and produced by Ka'Lena Cuevas, Miller’s Tony Award-winning masterpiece examines the rapid spread of collective hysteria, paranoia, and the fragile nature of personal integrity when fear displaces the truth. What begins as a young girl’s accusation in a strict Puritan community rapidly escalates into a trial of public panic and personal betrayal, forcing farmer John Proctor to choose between his survival and his soul.

"Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible as a reflection of his own era, but its central question—how quickly a community can tear itself apart when fear takes hold—is timeless," said director Brent Wooldridge. "The intimate space at Basile Westfield Playhouse allows us to bring audience members directly into the room where these terrifyingly human decisions take place."
