Youth Classes & Workshops

Chicago-style improv course for youth at MSP!

If you are a junior high or high school student and would like to learn about improv or develop your improv skills, join us for a 9-week course!

This is a Chicago-style improv course taught by an experienced theatre instructor, artistic & technical director, Ms. Elicker.

 

Course topics include: 

  • Show & Don't Tell

  • Group Mentality

  • Yes, And...

  • Object Work

  • Prior Relationship

  • Pacing

  • Don't Ask Questions

  • Deal in the Now

  • ...and more!

 

WHO:  For students grades 7-12

WHAT:  Nine improv classes in the style of Second City

WHERE:  The upstairs classroom at the Basile Westfield Playhouse

WHEN:  Every Saturday beginning Oct 5 through Nov 30 from 10:30am-11:30am

WHY:  Learn the skills of long-form, improvised comedy and develop as an actor!

TEACHER:  Ms. Melanie Elicker 

COST:  $100 per student for nine classes 

WHAT TO BRING:  Clothes you can move in and something to record notes!

Both the registration form and your payment must be received in order to be registered for this class series.
